    I've been seeing these leaks around, but nobody has verified them. They don't quite look right to me, particularly that macro lens. The attachment system on the back of it looks totally wrong and weird compared to if you look at the Max Lens Mod or the standard lens protector. The Ultra-wide lens mod also seems suspect, given that it looks the same as the Max Lens Mod 2.0. If that's what they are calling it, then it's likely a rebranding rather than a new product. The only other reason for it I can think of is if the lens on the main HERO Black camera has been re-designed, necessitating a new wide angle mod design. If so, that might indicate a decently wide angle on the main camera to keep up with DJI (DJI's Ultra Wide mode is the ultimate POV lens). The magnetic mount will be good if GoPro has done it, but if you look at the purported Hero camera, there's no provision for it. Why release a new camera that can't use any new magnetic mount system? Now, I cannot say for certain that these leaks aren't real. But I'm a bit perplexed at how everyone is taking them at face value. They look polished, and maybe the Hero camera is real. But I'm not convinced about the HERO 13 Black imagery. Way too easy to have manipulated from a photo of a 12 and a third party macro attachment. Not saying it absolutely isn't real, just that I would take it all with a pinch of salt until the real announcement, or a leak from someone who has a track record.

      Hey @MrRickyCheese . I agree with you. Last years DJI Osmo had 1/1.3 and the Insta360 R 1 had a one inch sensor, so GoPro really has to bring its A game this year. Anything less than 1/1.3 will not be a good look. Thanks for taking the time to drop a line. All the best.

    The heat sink images are probably fake. It does not make any sense and takes a lot of space. Furthermore, it would ruin the design. This can’t be true, like the leaks last year with the 1” version of the GoPro. 8K? Maybe, but totally unnecessary and bad for low light and rolling shutter performance. Magnetic mount? Not even worth thinking about. Just get a third party plate for the DJI system. Haven’t heard of any feature, which would justify an upgrade. Maybe real interchangeable lenses, a global shutter sensor, ProRes recording or an in internal ND, but I haven’t heard anything regarding that.

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia День тому

      Hey @alexanderdreger9109 ! Thanks for your comment. I think these photos looks too well composed to be fake. Some of the images originally appeared on the Amazon US site where eagle-eyed viewers caught sight of the GoPro Hero and the new accessories. I wouldn't be surprised if someone at GoPro even leaked them on purpose. The new DJI Osmo Action 5 is due out next so maybe they put them up to steal their thunder. The one inch sensor hasn't really got much of a mention this year, but with other cameras - like the Insta 360 ONE R - already having that feature, GoPro may be in danger of losing some of its market share if it doesn't do anything similar this thing around. I'm not really a fan of 8K at this stage. I rarely use 5.3K on the Hero 12 as it makes it hard to edit such big file sizes. Other cameras and third party companies - like Ulanzi and Telesin - have been using magnetic mounts for a couple of years so they are behind the ball on that one, but still GoPro does usuallly come up with some cool features. I love your ideas - a global shutter would be amazing for one - but I guess we will have to wait and see until Sept 12. All the best.

    • @alexanderdreger9109
      @alexanderdreger9109 День тому

      @@AdventureTimMedia Thank you for your answer. Yes, my feature "whishes" are not going to happen anytime soon😄 Not until they release a premium GoPro for 999$. I started loving the 5.3k recording in 8:7 and it is actually my standard setting (or 4k 8:7, if I need 60p), because it allows me to stabilize and lens correct the footage in post and I still get a good 4k resolution. Rolling shutter fortunately never was a big problems with GoPro cameras. And concerning the 1" sensor: I acutally prefer the shorter minimum fucus distance a smaller sensor provides. But this is of cause really subjective and everybody has different needs and wishes. Never forget how much choice we have these days, it is just mind blowing.

    After GoPro refused to honor the 2nd battery promotion they lost me. No complaints process and they just clearly did not care. DJI however “so far” have been great. My action 4 was replaced outside of warranty which I was very grateful for and when they sent the reconditioned one it came with a spare battery so I ended up with 2 batteries which was awesome.

    Overheating WILL NOT be a “thing of the past” , the plastic fins will have absolute minimal effect on cooling the cam down.

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia День тому

      Hey @urbanmanc ! Thanks for your comment. The planned heat sink sounds like it may be at least a step in the right direction, so I'm happy to give Gopro the benefit of the doubt until i get the camera on my hands and really put it to the test. Heat sinks in PCs normally have a bit of space around them - and often a fan - to aid in the cooling process. Gopros don't have a lot of space to work with, so I'm very interested to see how they plan to pull this off. From my experience, I've had a lot less issues with overheating with the Hero 11 and 12 than earlier models and removing GPS from the 12 was supposed to make a difference but i know its non-inclusion annoyed a lot of ppl. Thanks again for dropping a msg.

    How to do video record in action camera 1:1 ratio?

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia День тому

      Hey @SopatherSes ! Thanks for your comment. The Hero 11 and 12 both have 16:9, 4:3 and 8:7 for their aspect ratios. The 12 also has 9:16 . To get 1:1 you would need to crop your footage to that size in post production. If I was you I'd choose to film in 8:7 and then crop it later. That way you wouldn't have to crop as much of your footage. Hope this helps. All the best.

I agree, the design is a bit unusual but I'm sure after a while - esp if it makes a difference- no one is going to care. I remember last year when the 12 came out it looked strange - blue speckles , really? - but it was a good little camera and now , no one blinks an eye . Thanks for taking the time to comment. All the best.

  • @WildTreksAustralia
    @WildTreksAustralia 2 дні тому

    Well, not 1 feature I'm looking out for. Not addressing the root cause of overheating is an issue. Heat = lost of energy that could be used to increase battery life. The camera should perform well with low light conditions and in the cold... and we do not need more than 4k resolution, 4k with a high frame rate 500 or so for great slomo is desirable

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia День тому

      Hey @wildtreksAustralia ! Thanks for your comment. It sounds like the Heat sink is GoPro's idea of preventing overheating. Normally, in computing, they require a larger space to allow the heat to dissipate quicker so I'm interested to see how they are going to make this happen with their new design. GoPro's dont have a lot of space to play with. There are several ways you can increase battery life but having more efficient batteries is ultimately the best solution. I've found the Enduro a massive step forward in that department. The old blue ones were terrible. Low light is something that has long been something they have needed to work on. The best solution would be a bigger sensor, so hopefully they have one in store. I agree - 4K is more than enough for most situations , but I think 500fps is a bridge too far. 4k at 240fps would be nice though. Thanks again for dropping me a line and all the best exploring the Blue Mountains. I've never had a chance to visit there but I liked the look of your videos. All the best.

      Hey Peter ! Thanks for your comments. I used a hero 9 in this video, which worked well but I would also recommend the 10 and 11 too. All three of those cameras have a GPS feature that you can turn on but you can't see when you are driving. You can add it in post if you use the gopro quik app to edit. I'm not sure if this is a feature you would use , but it's a cool option to have if you want to see what speeds you were travelling. They removed this feature from the 12 to save on battery life, reduce over heating and as the thought it wasn't being used much. You can pick up one of these older cameras on Amazon for around 400-500$ AUD. Hope this helps .

I'm bringing out a video on this topic in a couple of weeks. There are also third party options too but you do have to pay for them. I hope this helps .

      If you go to the quik app, and select a piece of gopro footage ( where you have enabled GPS before you started filming) , choose the stickers option from the menu on the bottom of the screen and you will see the GPS options.

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia 12 днів тому

      Hey @motobrewski ! Thanks for your comment. This feature was only introduced on the Hero 12 so unfortunately you can't connect it to a Hero 11 in this way. Cardo should work fine with the Hero 12 though. I have tested a range of Bluetooth devices with it - including cheap products I bought on #Amazon - and haven't had any issues so I'm confident that Cardo would work. One idea for the Hero 11 would be to put it in a media mod, and then connect a wireless mic receiver to it and attach the mic to your bike helmet. I use a Hollyland wireless mic and I reckon this could work. You would have the cost of the extra equipment though. Hope this helps.

      Hey @ricnurcis ! You are correct about the bit rate being lower at 9:16. It also only has one lens option at 9:16 - which is wide - and two resolution options - 1080p and 4K. However these settings are normally all you need for instagram reels and tik toks. Superview at 5.3K and 16:9 is slightly different on the Hero 12. - it doesn't capture as much at the top of the screen, i think using 8:7 might do a slightly better job, but your method definitely would work too. Select video or looping. Tap the tick in the top right of the screen. Make your changes. Then once done., Tap on the tick at the top right. It will bring you back to a screen with a list of default names. Scroll to Choose the one you want and tap the tick at the top right. It should return to the normal rear video screen with the new preset name displayed . Let me know how you go. Cheers

    I bought this tripod and returned it immediately after a couple of minutes of use. It had two fatal issues - the quick release plate couldn't be rigidly locked, always having some 2 mm play, and the tripod was not compatible with any other accessories of the Go-Quick II system (its quick release plate was too big for other mounts, couldn't be turned to be locked, while other plates were too loose for this tripod and rattled freely).

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia 26 днів тому

      Hey @Chemnitzer ! Thanks for your comment. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with this tripod. This is the only quick release system item I have from ulanzi and so far I've been really happy with it. 2mm of play seems quite a lot and although my plate does have a little bit of movement, I assume to aid in removing it when needed, it always feels secure and locked in. I've had this tripod for over six months now and I can honestly say its still one of my favourite accessories. I appreciate you taking the time to give me your thoughts. All the best.

    • @Chemnitzer
      @Chemnitzer 26 днів тому

      @@AdventureTimMedia Hello, thanks for the reply. I really do love the concept of the system and this tripod would be a great accessory indeed. I have two other Go-Quick II sets (so called "Basic Set" and an adaptor from Go-Quick II for a GoPro mount) and their plates are absolutely rigid when locked - but, when I examined interchangeability of their components once again, I have to say, Ulanzi has an obvious problem with workmanship and tolerances here. All combinations of the basic set components work perfectly, however when its plate is mounted on the GoPro adaptor, it feels a little bit tight, but can be used with no problems. But when I mount the plate from the GoPro adaptor on any of the three basic set bases, there's always a minimal play - it's a fraction of a millimetre, but it can be felt. I have no idea yet if it presents a real problem, but it clearly shows the Go-Quick II mount requires very strict tolerances, while Ulanzi clearly cannot produce its components precisely enough.
